About Mrs. Hamilton

Faith, Hope and Charity Learning Academy was founded by Melissa Hamilton, a passionate educator with a remarkable journey. Born in Georgetown, Guyana, Melissa moved to the United States with her mother and younger brother, bringing with her the vibrant spirit and rich cultural heritage of her homeland.

Ms. Hamilton is a dedicated mother of five children and has passionately taught Social Studies and English Language Arts in North Carolina for over 15 years. Her extensive experience in the classroom has enriched her students' understanding and appreciation of these subjects. With her nurturing approach, she inspires young minds to explore history and literature, fostering a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom walls.

Upon entering the NYC public school system, Melissa discovered her profound love for teaching, inspired by her favorite Guyanese teacher, also named Ms. Hamilton. This deep admiration for education directed her path, and she pursued her studies earnestly. Melissa earned her Bachelor's degree from Touro College in New York City and soon followed this achievement with a Master's in Education.

Driven by her own experiences and the impact teachers can have on their students, Melissa established Faith, Hope and Charity Learning Academy. Her goal is to create a nurturing environment where children can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially, fostering the same love for learning that shaped her own life. Through dedication, creativity, and a commitment to excellence, Melissa continues to inspire both her students and the community, embodying the ideals of faith, hope, and charity that the academy stands for.
